after the tour i got dropped off in downtown reykjavik and wandered around exploring, taking photos and reading menus. had some great vegitarian food, and stopped in an artsy little cafe for a coffee and internet access. getting tired, need to be up at 4am to catch the early bus back to the airport!

today I took a day trip and went to see the ‘golden waterfall’ gullfoss. it was amazing. along the way we stopped at a volcanic crater, and a geyser. saw quite a bit of country side, a couple glasiers, volcanos, sheep, horses, and little houses for ‘the ones who are not seenĀ“(gnomes and elfs and the like) We also stopped at another waterfall called faxi. it couldnĀ“t have been a nicer day for countryside sight seeing, unseasonably warm all the icelanders were talking about it, that and the earthquakes that were recorded last night under one of the northern glaciers.. think that a valcano eruption is due, two of them are aparently swelling so its only a matter of time.

After landing and customs and a 45 minute bus ride i made it safely to reykjavik about 5pm. Walked around and took photos but it was getting dark. Found a pub downtown and met a dude from boston, and a number of locals. Had a pretty good time, had some mentholated vodka that is made by a candy company, there’s actually a couple brands, gajol and opal. I liked the gajol better. We met this old crusty icelandic dude who was verry drunk, he spoke broken english, he told us he was a street fighter. “they call me black cat” I’m guessing he was a boxer when he was younger.. but thats about all the sence we made of him.. pretty entertaining evening.. viking brand beer is quite tasty.

Didn’t take many photos this year. Drove out with Tollef on thursday. Camped with Tollef, Alex, Skot, Ria, Adam, Jenny, Boris, and Jason. Had a hard time acclimating on friday. Alex was there working with media mecca and ended up securing us an art car for most of the time we were there. It was a really chill, relaxing, laid back time this year… cruising around on the car, drinking scotch, dancing and looking at art. Met some cool kids.

Over presedents day weekend I drove up to Eureka to visit mike, was nice to get out of the city for a couple days. The photos are mostly of Headwaters park which was the origonal loging town in the area, which has long since been abandoned and turned into a park. Many of the origonal building foundations can still be found out in the woods.

I was invited to do night one of a 2 night new year party called ‘Sea of Dreams’ which is put on by Anon Salon. I think it is the biggest new years eve party in SF, thousands and thousands of people. It was held at the SF concourse convention center. I was in the front room, of 3 rooms, the others were slightly larger and had some live stage acts, I was on with a number of DJ’s including the space cowboys. Here’s a clip of my mix from that night:

My first trip out to burning man, camped with a bunch of friends, most of whom were veterans… Alex and Brett, Tollef and Lindsay, Skot and Ria, Adam and Jennny, Emmet and Beth, BJ and Eileen.. aka single dude in couples camp…
Skot and Adam had the Breath of Fire, the genious combination of a breathalyzer and a flame thrower. And there was also the delicious 5$ mayo.
